I can understand how an artist could devote his or her entire life to still life drawing or painting. Every challenge and every satisfaction is there, and the beauty is that you can arrange your “stage” exactly as you want it.

      Tastes vary. How artists and cultures react to still life tells a great deal about people through the ages.

      I’m always planning still life projects but very rarely getting around to doing them. Someday I’ll do a series on fruit and maybe later one on draped cloth of various patterns and textures.

      It would help, however, to have a second lifetime.
